What Does A Sac Like Formation On White Part Of Eyes Indicate?

Posted on Tue, 26 May 2015
Question: Hi! I have had bad eye allergies and I just noticed I have a sac like thing on the white part of one of my eyes. It is moveable if I move my eyelid so I think there may be fluid in it. Could this be pink eye? My vision is fine and it doesn't hurt, I just feel like there's something in it.

Brief Answer:
pink eye- redness and copious discharge

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Edema (build of fluid) can occur in response to allergic conjunctivitis which is allergies involving the eyes.

Giant papilla may also form in some persons, these are small sacs that may be seen under the eyelid.

Gritting sensations or the feelings as if something is in the eye can occur with allergies.

In pink eye (infectious conjuctivitis), the eye normally appears red and there is copious discharge in the eyes. This discharge may crust over and would affect the ability to open the eye.

There are different formulations of visine, if you are using a form that has an antihistamine such as visine A this should help.

The use of an oral anti histamine may also help eg benadryl, claritine, zyrtec, allegra

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
