What Does A Soft Spot At The Site Of Injury On The Head Indicate?
I fall easily. I fell on a hard floor and hit the back of my skull about 2-3 weeks ago. It doesn't hurt as much but I just noticed today that the spot is a little soft. So....
Probably subcutaneous hematoma.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
The soft spot you refer may be caused by subcutaneous (under the skin) accumulation of blood at the moment of trauma.
It is generally not a reason to be worried more than necessary, if there are no other symptoms, it should resolve with time.
However, if you notice any new symptoms such headaches, feeling nauseous, lethargy, worsening of balance issues, any weakness, or if you use blood thinners, you should see your Doctor and probably you should have a head CT scan done in order to exclude delayed issues of head trauma such subdural hematoma.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards.
