What Does Absence Of Heart Beat Of Foetus And Stomach Pain Indicate?

Missed abortion.
Detailed Answer:
welcome to Health care magic.
Iam Dr Ganesh.
1.Its a missed abortion according to the ultrasound scan report you have mentioned, as i understood.
2. With a intrauterine pregnancy - parameters corresponding to 7 weeks 3 days, ideally cardiac activity should be recorded ( generally 5 1/2 weeks trans vaginally and 6 1/2 weeks trans abdominal scan detects heart beat) if not means failed pregnancy confirmed after a repeat scan in a week time.
3.In your case even you are not sure with LMP ( last period dates - the measurements of the sac and fetal pole says 7 weeks, But i would recommend have a scan after 1 week and take needful action.
4. Sorry that you have felt discomfort on your doctors examination, I don't think it happened due to the examination. One has to feel the internal parts so you felt like that, If some thing makes you unhappy with some one better you visit some other as you will never be satisfied with the treatment from that person.
Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
Anything to ask ? do not hesitate. Thank you.

I have a few more if thats ok.
1. If repeat scan shows the same ie no HB and no growth or is it possible embryo would have grown due to placenta feeding it and not realising no HB to give you false impression all is well?
I need to be sure before I take action.
2. Do you recommend a D and C then if a miscarriage is confirmed?
3. Can they test to see what happened to foetus and if so could we get remains after?
4. I ate some soft cheese last week by mistake also..is this possible listeria was the cause or would I know if I had this...I read somewhere mother would feel very little if any symptoms?
5.Would you recommend I get a pelvic scan after this as after having my first baby 10months ago I feel my uterus did not settle properly and alway felt odd although I did breastfeed for 6 and half months.
6. Is there a time span I need to wait to try again ie one mentrual period?I am devastated by this news.
let me explain you.
Detailed Answer:
Hai. Thank you for query.
1.Yes fetus is fed by placenta / chorion through out the course of pregnancy.its not how you are thinking. The fetes might have been well till 7 weeks and lost its viability due to several reasons ( hormonal, uterine pathologies and so on). There is nothing like false impression in case of fetal heart beat - (weather its there or not )thats all.
2.No, first you try with medications if does not work then D&C.
3. No. If its aborted you will not even feel, its so tiny. No one will find cause in the tiny fetes.
4.No the cheese is not the reason for your missed abortion.
5. Yes in any case you have to get a pelvic scan done, to know the status of complete evacuation of the pregnancy / fetal. ( check scan for RPOC - Retained products of conception)
6.Yes it better to give couple of months time after abortion to get things settled.
Hope it helps you.
Sorry for whats happening.
Take care - wish you good health.
Thank you.
Dr.Ganesh.

I am wondering why you say medication first to bring on miscarriage?
Is natural not best or could that take weeks?
The hospital seem to recommend the d and c as it is quicker and less traumatic but there are risks...can you explain your preference of how to end it?
Medical termination of pregnancy.
Detailed Answer:
Hello welcome back.
1. Its all individual opinion. There are few side effects with abortion pills - like incomplete abortion - but not seen in all cases ( where again D&C will be required ) for which some prefer D&C.
2. In D&C, its a procedure where instruments are inserted to perform and here there are other complications.
3. Both have the plus and minus - so any thing is fine. Don't worry - everything is going to be fine follow your treating doctor.
Good luck.
