What Does An Itcy Spot On Back Indicate?

default
Posted on Sat, 5 Apr 2014
Question: I have a very small spot on my back on the left side just under my shoulder blade that itches somewhat but is painful as if something is under the skin like a splinter. My daughter looked at it and said that she thought it was indeed a spliter and was able to squeeze the area slightly and out came what looked like something the size and shape of a splinter. But that has been 5 days ago and I have not felt any change in relief from it. Wearing a bra is uncomfortable because it makes contact with the area in question. Any ideas. I have had symptoms for about 10 days.

Brief Answer: sebaceous cyst Detailed Answer: Hello Probably you have developed sebaceous cyst. Your description matches with that. It is collection of skin debris under skin. When you press white material comes out. Only permanent treatment is surgical removal. It is very important for me to see the lesions. Can you please upload a photograph of the lesion. This will help me in giving a closer diagnosis and better way of management. There is an option to upload photo on right side of query page. Please utilize it. Waiting for your response. Thank you
