Brief Answer:
Fibrobronchoscopy

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for asking HealthcareMagic,

I can understand your concern,

Atelectasis is a radiologic term which means that one part of an airway in the lungs is collapsed and no more air is entering there and as a result that lung part is not ventilated at all or partially ventilated.

The airway might be blocked due to several causes. Even an infection of the lungs might be the cause.

To find the exact cause the next step should be the diagnostic Fibrobronchoscopy.
I believe that your doctor must have already recommended it to you.

If not yet, don't worry the doctor has your clinical picture clear and maybe after a treatment with antibiotics, if the alelectasis is not evident anymore then no more tests to do.

If not then please discuss with your doctor, do proceed with the bronchoscopy as mentioned.

Take care and feel free to ask me again
