What Does Black Urinary Discharge Indicate?
Clinical review, Urologist's opinion
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the query,
It might be important to know for how long she has been experiencing this discharge. This might be related or not to the sling in the bladder. However, presence or absence of other signs of urinary tract infection (pain on urination, incontinence, frequency or offensive odor) lately might be of importance to be considered.
Considering the fact that this is actually a discharge, and not a color change in the urine alone, it is compelling that an in depth evaluation of the discharge be done. A sample should be sent to the laboratory for bacteriological analysis, culture and chemical analysis. It is not excluded however, that in case the installation of the dark discharge was very much progressive, the stent could be incriminated to an extent.
The opinion of a urologist is required considering her medical history. Ruling out a urinary tract infection and consequently treating it appropriately as you book an appointment is my advice.
I suggest you meet your primary care physician for a proper initial clinical review. Kind regards.
