What Does Blood In Urine Indicate?
high white cell count in uninalysis with a "few" Non squamous epi and a "trace" of Squam epi cells . Also Red Blood "TNTC" plus a read of "100(A)" for Protein......I had what I believe was a stone passage a week ago (quick onset pain , acute then went away in a few hours ...but no evidence of hard stone passed out of bladder ... bladder feels like I need to go frequently) with some ebbing and flow of pain in area I would say is the bladder exit ....PSA was .399. non fever or other symptoms ...feel fine generally . Have passed a jellylike red blood substance over last 2 months .....Urologist apt Tuesday all set ...any comments ?I would appreciate insight ....I am fearing Bladder Cancer but only base on my perusal of the internet ( and I did not stay at a Holiday Inn in the last year ) Thanks
Cancer should be ruled out by utz or ctscan.
Detailed Answer:
Good Day and thank you for being with Healthcare Magic!
According to your account of events I would say the most likely diagnose would be stone passage because of your history of recurrent stone disease. However due to your age any cancer should be ruled out. Since you have a very low PSA then basically we have ruled out prostate cancer.
Bladder cancer and renal cancer may both present as blood in the urine and termed painless hematuria. This can be diagnosed by a kidney urinary bladder ultrasound or a CT SCAN to look for masses in the genitourinary tract.
High WBC in the urine shows urinary tract infection and may cause blood in the urine in itself. This needs to be treated with antibiotics and your doctor on Tuesday will surely prescribe you one.
I hope I have succeeded in providing the information you were looking for. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications at: http://www.HealthcareMagic.com/doctors/dr-manuel-c-see-iv/66014 I would gladly help you. Best wishes

thanks doc.....and as you say the visit to dr should determine the next steps....I suspect cancer for no other reason that this event has been a 3 month ongoing passage of blood ( ebb and flow) along with the mysterious Jelly blood. it first presented itself while in the midst of riding my bike over 2000 miles from May thru July .....I thought after I got off the bike that it would "go away " if caused by some mechanical issue in the prostate area.....it has persisted albeit at a lower level.....as I have also read , smokers suffer bladder cancer at higher rates...I quite 11 years ago but the damage of smoking may have been put in place then.....I appreciate your thoughts ...and I will use them as I ask my Doc the questions that hopefully will narrow this down to a cause and a course of treatment . regards XXXX
I will await your imaging results.
Detailed Answer:
Yes you are correct in saying that smoking is the number one risk factor for bladder and renal cancer and advanced age is the second risk factor for malignancy.
Right now my differential diagnoses are stone disease, infection and cancer or malignancies.
Imaging studies are needed to confirm or rebuke the above mentioned diseases. I wish the best of luck on your health and feel free to update me once you have the results from your doctors appointment.
