Question: What does it mean blue and red colors on a pelvic sonagram? They said they would phone in 48 hours and just phoned in less then 4 hours

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Colour doppler is helpful in blood flow study. It may be red, blue or black. Red colour means postive colour doppler shift from right to left side or vice versa according to direction of beam and blood flow. Same thing is implement for blue colour. Black colour is due to absent of doppler shift. Blue colour may suggest reversal of flow. Its not like that red means artery and blue means vein. It depends on direction of flow. Sometimes artefacts may occur with both colour.
