What Does "broad Based Disc Osteophyte Complex" Indicate?
This is cervical disc herniation
Detailed Answer:
Hello madam,
I have read your MRI report. This is disc herniation at neck. Disc which is herniating is between Fifth and sixth neck bone. This is pinching nerve in hand so you are having sharp, electric like pain in hand. As far as signal intensity in thoracic bone is concerned, it can be a old lesion not pertinent to current conditions.
I have following suggestions.
1. Avoid using pillow
2. Take pregabalin and methyocobal tablet after consulting with your doctor.
3. Soft collar for neck.
4.neck physiotherapy and traction exercise
5. Surgery is last resort.
I hope this answer will help you. Let me know if you want to ask any other questions. Thanks and take care.
You should visit a orthopedic doctor
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Cervical disc problem is episodic in nature. I mean in two weeks your pain will go automatically and will occur again after short time.
Surgery is needed if nerve compression is so much that you are having weakness.
I think you need to see a orthopedic surgeon and discuss treatment. You can tell him my opinion as well. I choose orthopedic surgeon over neurosurgeon for this problem.
You should wear soft collar as it is more comfortable and effective then hard collar. Also do not remove it during sleeping.
Lesion in thoracic vertebrae is not always cancer. It can be hemangioma, osteoporosis, and many other safe lesions. A CT guided biopsy can be done. This will help in diagnosis.
I hope this answer will help you. Let me know if you want to ask any other questions. Thanks and take care.
