What Does Calcifications Around Cyst In Breast Indicate?

Question: I am a 66 years old. I have never had any children. My Doctor through a mannogram noticed a spot on mybreast in August. She told me to go for furthaer tests and thetest results showed a cyst. In April I had more tests and ultra sound tests. The radiologist recommended a needle biosophy draing the cyts. The General surgeon said he recommended surgical removal ofthe cyst becasuse there weresigns of calification around the cyts. What do you recommend?

In my opinion, if there are calcifications arround the cyst, then its better to get it removed and send the entire specimen for pathological evaluation, to help rule out any malignancy. As you are at a bit high risk for it, because of your age and not having any children.
