Brief Answer:
common findings in MRI of elderly people

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for consulting HealthcareMagic!

Chronic microvascular ischemic changes are usually common findings in MRI of elderly people. This is due to damage to tiny blood vessels in brain which leads to minor and asymptomatic strokes in brain. Usually chronic medical conditions like diabetes and hypertension are the causes.

And mild to moderate cerebral volume loss is also common with aging. Because of this there would be minor changes in memory and other cognitive abilities. But, it is common with aging. However, in her case both the findings need follow up with Neurologist.

Hope I have answered your query.
