Question: Hi I am 41 years of age. Was trying to conceive for 2.5 years. Had low progesterone and irregular cycles. Ultrasound 6 months ago showed promising folicles. I had been on clomid but stopped.. It is 53 days since my lmp. I have taken several urine pegnancy tests that come out negative. I am a sonogrher but dont know anything about gynae exams. I have had a look at my uterus with a probe and seen a definate circular cyst like structure plus a small mass which may of may not be a feotus?

Brief Answer:
No

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Welcome to health care magic.

Circular cyst you have seen is unlikely to be fetus or gestational sac. There are many structures which give such appearance. Especially when urine test is negative.

The best way to confirm pregnancy accurately is to get serum beta hCG blood test done. This is accurate.

It looks like a fetal pole and a feotus . It was not there two months ago. I also had one negative test that I left beside my bed. During the night there was a faint positive line. In the morning it had dissappeared
I can see a yolk sac and it measures about 5mm

Brief Answer:
Positive

Detailed Answer:
Hi

If you can see yolk sac then urine test needs to be strongly positive.

Since it is faint I suggest you repeat urine test. If it is not strongly positive then what you are seeing is not yolk sac.

What else could it be? Ive never been late on a period like this! I feel fluttering in my uterus too..
It seems to be close to the fallopean tube which looks to be larger than the other side.. Could it be some sort of ectopic location?
Would this explain low hcg levels?

Brief Answer:
Cyst

Detailed Answer:
Hi

It could be possibly ovarian cyst. Even if it is ectopic gestation the hCG should be high.

Uterine flutter does not suggest anything.

Brief Answer:
Periods

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Delayed periods could be due to minor hormonal imbalance and has nothing to do with the pregnancy part if you are not pregnant.
