What Does Decrease In Menstrual Flow Indicate?
Question: Hi,
From last 2months,my menstrual flow is very less as compared to previous months..like i need to change my napkin only once a day, previously i used to change thrice a day,and my period stays only for 2days,previously it was 3days atleast
Is there anything to worry,or why is this happening, how can i bring it to normal.
Regards,
XXXX

Need some details.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to HCM. Thanks for writing in to us with your health query. I have gone through your query and understand your concerns completely. First of all I would like to assure you that it's not a very big issue. Menstrual cycles can vary in amount and time due to many reasons such as stress, tension, work load and even seasons.
Did you have change in any of the above reasons over this period of time apart from the season. Are you sexually active? Also can you tell me of any medication you have been taking or have changed to other medicine over this period?
Regards Dr Manisha Jain

Brief Answer:
Nothing to worry
Detailed Answer:
Sorry for the delay in response XXXXXXX I understand your problems and frankly you have a lot many reasons for this reduced flow in periods.
First and most important is your recent sexual activity and of course emergency pill intake.
It's effect will be gone in 2-3 cycles.
Second is your workout thing which releases endorphins in body causing decreased flow.
Moreover change of season also has this effect on flow.
But all in all nothing to worry and just avoid emergency pill intake in future and either use barrier method of switch to regular oral pill intake.
All the best
