What Does Decreased ALT And AST Levels Indicate?

Question: My AST dropped from 208 to 134 and ALT from 198 to 158 along with GGT from 90 to 70 and Bilirubin down to .44 in 6 months.
Is that a good drop?

I am so happy to hear about this drop in your numbers. This signals an improvement and probably thanks to the decreased alcohol consumption. However, the values are still out of the normal range and signal a continued problem. This seems likely explained by the hepatitis C infection.

I will suggest that you get evaluated for possible treatment for this HepC infection by a hepatologist. It would be a great idea. Chronic hepatitis C leads to long term liver damage, cirrhosis, failure and cancers. Treatment in the past used to be a nightmare but not any longer. There are potent medications with minimal side effects that have a great success rate in as little as 12weeks. I guess you should take advantage of this.
