What Does Dizziness While Standing Upright Indicate?

Check the BP while sitting, lying and standing
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Postural hypotension is very common at your age.
To confirm that I suggest you to check the BP at all these positions... lying on bed, sitting and immediately after standing. If there is a wide variation then there is a phenomenon of postural variation. The inner ear is slow to respond to the changes in the posture.... commonly seen due to age related degeneration. However a heart and brain evaluation is needed to say if it age related.
Second the multiple medications that you take could cause variations in the intravasucular volume.
Third you already quoted that you have ataxia and cerebellar degeneration a prime reasons for dizziness.
Possible solution: Get up very slowly from lying to sitting and from sitting to standing.... if possible leave a time gap between positions so that the blood volume is adjusted.
