What Does Dominant Follicle In Right Ovary Mean?

Question: My OBGYN has told me during folliculometry scan that i have a dominant follicle in my right ovary.The scan was on 26 March 2014. Does it mean that I can conceive?

Following is my reply: 1) Dominant follicle in ovary means follicle has reached optimum size for ovulation. 2) But it does not mean that you are going to conceive for sure. Doctor,I am a 25 year old female married on 11.5.2013. I had regular periods upto October 2013 after which it became irregular.My OB GYN tolad that I have PCOD. sHE ASKED ME TO BE ON oBIMET 500.Later I consulted another OB GYN who asked me to go on lifestyle modification that i did not follow.I had my periods on the correct date in March i.e. March 15th. As per the doctor's report I had a dominant follicle.We had intercourse on 26 th March as advised by the doctor. Then I fell ill on 27th due to food poisoning and urinary infection.On April 3rd I spotted a white discharge,just once.Again I am on antibiotics for chest infection. When can i check for pregnancy?
