What Does Dry, Whitish Skin Near Vagina Indicate?

Question: Hi. I'm having a problem on my vulva. It happened when i had an allegic reaction to sanitary napkin i've been using. Now it's beginning to heal when i stopped using napkins and pantyliner. However, i noticed the skin around my vagina to be whitish, shiny, dry, though no flakes. It's itchy sometimes. What can I do. I don't want to consult a doctor personally. It's embarassing. Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Thanks for contacting healthcare magic.
The whitish, shiny and dried skin over vulva which is itchy indicates that you may have contracted a vulval candida infection. you may try OINTMENT CLOTRIMAZOLE 1%LOCALLY THRICE A DAY FOR 7 DAYS.
TAB FLUCONAZOLE 300mg once orally can be taken if your doctor confirms it to be fungal infection. .
This should help treat the fungal infection and try to keep the local area moisture free.
