What Does Fasting Blood Sugar Level Of 115 Indicate?
Question: Two questions really. 1, if your normal body temperature runs a low 96 or so, is it true that you still don't have a fever unless it's over 100? 2, I was in the ER after 12 hours of vomiting and headache (they never figured out why). Looking at my lab tests, my blood sugar was 115 and it was marked high, I think because it was considered fasting and I hadn't eaten in 12 hours. My non fasting blood sugar run high. I have lost about 75 lbs but still have about 10 more to go. I. Don't have a ER follow up for 2 weeks. Should I call and ask for a fasting test? I have 2 sisters with diabetes. I'm a 51 year old female.

I understand my normal temp is low at 96. But sometimes when it gets up to 99 or so such as when I have bronchitis I feel like how other people with normal body temperature describe as a fever. Despite being 3 degrees higher than my normal of 96, I'm told I don't have a fever. If it were 3 degrees higher in a person who ran a normal body temp of 98.6, it would definitely be a fever. I ask because I was told to return to the ER or call my doctor if I have a fever.
