What Does Frequent Urination When On Mucinex Dm Indicate?

Question: I have been taking Musinex Dm for about a week due to bad cold and cough, and last nite about 1AM I started having to pee frequently and very little would come out. It is very painful. How long should this last and can I do anything to stop the pain and frequency of urination?

I am so sorry to hear about this frequent urination and pain that you have reported. Your symptoms are strongly suggestive of an urinary tract infection. This often presents with frequent painful urination in very small quantities. This requires the use of antibiotics and urinary testing to treat this condition. Antibiotics can only be gotten through your doctor as they are not available over the counter. For this reason, I will suggest that you consult your doctor and obtain a script for this.

It is customary to drink much fluids when diagnosed with a urinary tract infection and I urge you to do so. Drink a minimum of 1.5liters per day.These symptoms are not caused by the medication you took
