What Does High BP When On Clonidine And Seroquel Suggest?
Question: As I have discussed in earlier questions-I am currently on Clonidine(which I know is first a blood pressure medicine, with ability to reduce anxiety) and Seroquel to help reduce a pretty severe case of anxiety, which I have had on and off(more on) since I quit drinking about 7 months ago. If I take the meds as suggested(twice a day for each pill), it seems to work OK, but today I woke feeling awful, and I pretty much still feel that way now. I have a headache, feel somewhat disorientated , and my blood pressure has spiked to 158 over 103(I have a home BP machine)-I have taken BP several times today, and that is about the average. I am concerned, because with the use of the Clonidine, my BP rate has been pretty good. I have a prescription for Librium, which I very RARELY use, but my doctor said I could use it as needed. I would like your thoughts on the HBP(and other symptoms)-do I need to do to be overly concerned.
Brief Answer:
Not to be worried too much
Detailed Answer:
Hi
thank you for trusting HCM continuously
I read your query and understand your concern
In my opinion the blood pressure you are suffering (your values) aren't something to be worried
You should check your blood pressure everyday two times a day
If it is normal you should continue your actual treatment if it still persist upper than 140 treatment must be changed
Anyway I think this minimal changes in your blood pressure are due to anxiety
Occasionally you can use Librium
It won't harm you
Hope I have been of help
Wish you good health and fast recovery
Feel free to ask for further questions or doubts
Best regards
