What Does High TLC Count Indicate?
Its not cancer.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Jyothi Bl and I will be answering your query.
Looking at the reports and clinical query, my opinion is as follows:
1. It is not blood cancer. Usually, in blood cancer, the count will be in lakhs
2. In blood cancer, a single cell line would be increased too much. For eg: Neutrophil or lymphocyte forms - will be more than 95%. Along with this, immature forms will also be seen. Your count high may be due to inflammation or infection.
3. The RBC count is also increased, WBC Count and platelet count are also increased.
4. Possible microcytic hypochromic anemia, leading to hyperstimulation of marrow to increase RBC production has resulted in all the cell lines increase. Some amount of inflammation is also being noted due to increase in CRP level.
5. However, no allergic reaction is noted and I am not sure why? Eosinophil will increase in allergic reaction. If still doubtful, repeat a test at another location. You do not seem have any allergic manifestations according to your blood report.
This is not cancer.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
Take care.

Am really worried Doctor.
Not cancer, possible infection. Complete treatment
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
You are put on antibiotics. You are on a double dose of antibiotics and you need to complete the course. Along with it, try steam inhalation twice daily and continue anti-allergic tablets.
Repeat test is necessary.
Possibly due to your steroid therapy eosinophil might have come down, but repetition is necessary.
Continue the therapy and repeat the complete hemogram test. Thyroid levels are normal.
I can assure you one thing, this is not cancer. It is some infection or inflammation somewhere.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.

Peripheral smear or bone marrow biopsy
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for asking again.
I have seen cases of 42000 TLC with only infection. Your 23000 TLC is only double leukocyte count. At present you have infection, which is indicated by elevated CRP. An ongoing infection/inflammation leads to increased TLC.
Compared to others, yours might be more.
Not to worry. Complete the course and repeat.
I can assure you, looking at the values - No leukemia.
If you think its cancer, get a peripheral smear done and ask them to look for immature cells (percentage should be more than 20%) or get a bone marrow biopsy and again ask them to count the immature cells. In Bone marrow immature cells are normally found, but wont be more than 10%. In leukemia, in marrow, it will be more than 50-70%.
I would advise you to complete the course, and repeat it after maybe 10-15 days and you will notice, its reducing. Correction of anemia with iron therapy is also necessary.
You do not have cancer.
Hope it helps.
