Brief Answer:
Go for colonoscopy to rule out inflammatory disease or cancer.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone very carefully through your query.
Bloody mucus in stool, or mucus accompanied by abdominal pain, can represent serious conditions like Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and even cancer.
Initially I would suggest you to take anti secretory agent called Racicadotryl and get a stool test done.
After that a colonoscopy should be done to rule out the possibility of diseases like Crohn's or ulcerative colitis or polyp or cancer.
Suggestion-
Stool test followed by colonoscopy.
Follow up with reports.
Thanks

I just had a colonoscopy the end of November. They found a small polyp, and was tested and came back benign.

Brief Answer:
Examination of polyp by proctoscope to be done.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
Very likely the polyp is bleeding.Surface of polyp is soft in nature.Passing stools may erode it causing inflammation. As a response of inflammation mucuos is secreted while blood is secreted from the eroded surface of polyp.
Hope I was helpful.
