What Does Itching On The Arms Indicate While On Plaquenil For Sjorgren's Syndrome?

Question: Within the last two weeks, I have developed an itching of both arms. About 2-3 month ago I was placed on plaquenil for newly diagnosed Sjorgren's Syndrone. I am also a 73 year old African-American female who is studying for Comprehensive Exam in a Ph.D. program at a local university. Could any of these factors cause this itching problem? !

Brief Answer:
It may be a general or food allergy too.

Detailed Answer:
Hi welcome to health care magic,
Since your Sjorgren's was diagnosed 2-3 months ago, and itching is since 2 weeks, let us separate the two.
It may be a general or food allergy too.
I would like you to try the following---
Omeprazole (any preparation) 20 mg twice a day, Fexofenadine 120 in the morning, and Benadryl 50 at night--for a week.
If this does not help, you will have to see a doctor for a course of steroids, or a review of your Sjorgren's. But I am hopeful that it will get sorted out.
regards
