What Does Knee Giving Out Indicate?
Question: my doctor refused to see me about my knee pain and referred me to my physical therapist whom in turn told me that he would need 3 months of physical therapy to find out why my knee gave out. how true is this? should I seek a second opinion? I'm in the military so my job is always going to be physically demanding and my knee giving out cannot happen but I don't have 3 months to go through physical therapy just to see what the problem is. he said it's probably a perception issue but he just gave me a knee brace and called it good... -_-
please help in determining what I should do from here...

Brief Answer:
Physical therapy takes time.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The giving out of knee without any defect on the MRI scan can be a muscle tone related issue or a perception issue. This does take time to see if the physical therapy is effective or not. Knee brace will also help in stability of the joint. There is no way to find a short cut. Trial physiotherapy is a must to find the issue.
