Question: I recently took a chest CT. And below where the findings. can some one answer mewhat is the problem?
linear fibrotic strands in left lower lobe lateral segment.
no active lesion in the lung parenchyma.
discrete calcified and non calcified subcentimeter mediastinal( pretracheal, right paratracheal and subcarinal) and bilateral hilar group lymph nodes.

Findings are due to sequel of past infection.

Thanks for writing to HCM

Fibrotic strands are formed in lungs due to past infection.These are the sequel of infection.
During healing process,infection heals by fibrosis and calcification.
It generally doesn't require any treatment.Treatment is only required in excessive fibrosis causing compromised pulmonary functions.So,you shouldn't worry at all.
There are no signs of active lesion in lung parenchyma.

Discrete calcified and non calcified subcentimeter mediastinal( pretracheal, right paratracheal and subcarinal) and bilateral hilar group lymph nodes are also related to past infection.Due to some infections,lymph nodes are also enlarged and with passage of time,it may calcify.It is a completely benign finding.
