What Does Low TLC Value In Blood Test Report Suggest?
Question: Hi,
My mother in law is 59 years old. For the past 1 week she was having fever , after taking paracetamols fever got reduced.Now she is fine.
All the tests related to Dengue, malaria and typhoid came negative.
During a blood test taken on 29-Jul, her leukocyte count was 3800 and then when the same test is repeated on 1-Aug, it got reduced to 2300.
Her other blood tests including hemoglobin are normal.
We had again given blood sample for Total Leukocyte and platelet count test today.
Please suggest if this decrease in leukocyte cause any issue.

The decrease in TLC values seems like a temporary decrease maybe due to the fever (probably viral). Let us see what results come in the repeat blood test. Ideally the test be done atleast 10 days after dropping of fever.
