What Does Mild Vaginal Bleeding Indicate In An Elderly Person?

Question: My mother has had mild vaginal bleeding and has had a urine test come back clear, no infection. She had the same test done earlier this year in July, same result. It is not heavy bleeding, just staining when she cleans herself. She is 85 years old
Brief Answer:
Most likely to be due to thin surface lining.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for letting us know your health concern.
The most likely cause of the spotting could be the thin surface lining. However, I would suggest a local examination done by a specialist to exclude other causes like infection, abnormal pathology etc.
At her age, slight trauma can precipitate spotting due to dryness. Proper genital care is necessary.
Hope I have clarified your query. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.
