Minimal linear atelectasis or fibrosis in chest X-rays are benign findings.

Atelectasis are small areas of collapsed lung segment.It may be due to chronic infection or retained secretions.It is usually seen in dependent part of lungs.It is generally seen in basal lung part or periphery of lungs.

Fibrosis are sequel of past infection.Infection naturally heals by fibrosis,so mild atelectasis and fibrosis are benign findings and it doesn't require any treatment.These are minor findings.
