What Does Mucus In Feces After Unprotected Anal Sex Indicate?
Question: I had receptive unprotected anal sex. Until now (8 weeks) I have mucus on initial part of my stool. No blood, no itching, no fissure. Generally tip of my stool is type 2 according to Bristol chart. Remaining part goes type 3,4, or 5 in order. I exercise regularly and eat fiber.
Brief Answer:
Anoscopy/culture of feces advised...
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I am sorry for the situation you are in.
You are reporting to have mucus in feces after unprotected anal sex. It is due to friction and laceration of anal mucosa during intercourse.
I advise to run further tests to evaluate your current anal condition better:
- anoscopy
- culture of feces
Depending on the results, specific treatment will be prescribed.
Meanwhile, I advise to:
- avoid having anal sex in the nearest future
- keep a good anal/genital hygiene
- apply zinc oxide cream to heal damages from laceration
Hope it helped!

Thank you for the detailed great answer. It is probably laceration because during the anal sex, I feel a huge pain and stopped. But in any case, I want to eliminate STD's.
I have two follow-up question.
1. Does feces culture shows if there is an STD (especially gonorrhea or clamidia). I am also suspicious about these infections, due to the prolonged period of situation?
2. I live in Turkey. And here, gastroenterologists, actually almost all medics are not friendly with XXXXXXX guys. STD panel for sexually active guys do not include rectal swabs. I even asked several private labs for these tests and they only do urethral, cervical swabs only. I found home test kits for these STD from a turkish producer. The box contains urethral, cervical swabs. Can I used them on rectum? I asked the producer but, couldn't take an answer.
Note: These tests says that "solid-phase immunochromotography and looking for antigens"

Brief Answer:
Ask for Sexual Health clinic locally/overseas...
Detailed Answer:
Hi back,
Thank you for additional data you provided:
1. Feces culture won't show the presence of STDs but will determine whether there is pathogenic intestinal bacteria/candida.
2. XXXXXXX patients have the same rights as any other patients. In other countries, there exist special clinics called "Sexual Health Clinics" where screening for STDs are provided including in feces.
Usually, in men, samples taken to take the tests include : urethral fluids and urine. In XXXXXXX patients rectal swab testing and culture for STDs can be also recommended in special clinics (not done routinely).
If there is no "Sexual Health Clinic" in your country, you can ask to consult with an Infectious disease specialist who can prescribe to run such anal tests.
If still you cannot find answers for IDS, then, you can search for clinics overseas that can offer such service. You can contact by e-mail, while they can provide samples by courier.
3. I understand that you have bought the commercial kit, however, if it is not written that you can use rectal swab for this kit, then, you should not use it due to fake results you'll get.
All the best!
