What Does My CT Scan Report Indicate?

Question: I had removal of kidney stones which were apparently embedded. I had stent placement, which was removed 4 days after placed. The removal of stent was uncomfortable, but tolerable. I came home and urinated... thereof I had spasms so horrible I had to be taken to ER by ambulance. My surgery was 6 weeks ago, and I remain having pain. CT-Scan w/wo contrast showed no leaks and I still had inflammation. I still remain in pain. It has improved but is still causing me not to be able to get through day without medication. I was unable to take Flomax, caused orthostatic hypotension. My temp was 101.8. I was started on Bactrim DS po bid, but u/a c/s came back okay. But first u/s c/s was contaminated. I continue to have pain, more so if I pick up anything... the spasms start. If I ambulate down steps I am okay, but going up steps the pain starts. Simple things seem to aggravate. I am a nurse and I need to return to work. In the beginning I was given dilaudid, oxycodone and valium. I am not in severe pain requiring these medications. But, by end of the day I need something... it is awful. They started me on Neurontin. They ordered me a 24 hour urine. Nurse in office today was basically scolded me and said I should not still be in pain. I am not drug seeking, just want the pain to stop. It feels like the same pain I had prior surgery. I dont know what to do. I use XXXXXXX XXXXXXX Lidoderm patches, and my best friend lately is my heating pad. I dont think I am being taken seriously related to my situation. I would give birth to a baby over then to have this again. Please give me some direction. I need to get back to work. I thought I would be back to work a week after surgery. Well, it has been since Sept 25th. I do have faith in my doctor, but it seems I should be improved much more.
Brief Answer:
Inflammation seen on CT scan, is an indication for re-insertion of stent.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX and welcome to HCM.
As an Urologist, my personal opinion is, repeat your ultrasound scan.
Your symptoms of severe, recurrent spasms are due to the ureteritis.
Therefore, they can be easily reversed, by re-inserting the DJ stent for 5-7 days.
The pain is caused by the spasms, which will be better controlled by anti-spasmodics.
You don't need to be on Neurontin, as it has an addictive side-effect.
Drink 12-15 glasses of fluids daily.
Many people find great relief, with alkaliser syrup mixed in lemon juice, twice daily.
Wish you a speedy relief.
