What Does My CT Scan Report Indicate?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: My doctor has recommended CT Coronary Angiography to check the possibility of any blockage related to heart. My present heart rate was 71. The lab technician in radiology dept told me that heart rate needa to lowered below 65 for this test hence he has prescribed me Ivabrad 5mg for 2 days morning and evening and also for morning of the day of ct scan.
The doctor has also prescribed me with some antacid as he suspects gastritis to be the main cause of heartburn. Prescription attached. My BP was 110/70 and my age is 40
My question is
1. Is it safe to take Ivabrad 5mg along with the antacid prescribed by doctor
2. Is it required to take ivabrad 5mg for 5 times before go8ng in for the test as I am worried for any side effects

Brief Answer:
Yes ivabradine can be taken safely.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for choosing HCM for your query,
As per your query answers are-
1)Yes ivabradine can be taken with mucaine gel,There is no significant interaction between both these drugs.
2)Ivabradine is a very safe drug,It has no effect on the main current of heart but is rather a funny current channel blocker,Hence chances of bradycardia are almost negligible as compared to beta blockers which effects the main sino atrial node firing and may cause both bradycardia and hypotension.I don't think that 5 or 6 doses of ivabradine is going to cause any significant side effect. This drug is much safer then betablocker which can be used alternative to slow down heart.
Thanks
