What Does My CT Scan Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Sat, 2 Sep 2017
Question: I am a uterine (2013) and colon (2000) cancer survivor following surgery, radiation and chemo therapy. My lab test yesterday shows a major increase in my ca125 test to 940 from 660 last November. I had a traumatic fall 5 weeks ago and haven't felt the same since. I now have a hypo temperature of 96 degrees yesterday. My OBGYN has scheduled me to have the lab work again on 8/29 to see if it has gone back down before scheduling CT scan or other tests. I am hopeful low temp and my fall may have somehow triggered the increase in my ca 125 reading. Is that a possibility?

Brief Answer:
This is unlikely but let's wait for the control.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I can understand your concern,

It is not documented that a fall and low temperatures can actually impact on CA125 levels. A follow up control will actually tell us if is there is anything concerning about these numbers. If they continue to rise, then you will need a more comprehensive evaluation to understand what else might be going on.

Have you had any follow-up colonoscopy since the treatment?

I hope to hear from you and will like to know what the control results are.

Until then, I wish you well.
Feel free to ask further.
Regards
