default
Posted on Fri, 27 Nov 2015
Question: A CT scan suggests a Parotid Neoplasm. My Primary Care Physician is checking with a General Surgeon to see if he can perform the necessary surgical excision. Would not an ENT be the Surgeon of choice for such a procedure?

Thank you-

Brief Answer:
A maxillofacial surgeon is the specialist to carry out this procedure...

Detailed Answer:
Hi my dear,

Usually, such interventions are carried out by maxillofacial surgeon; however, sometimes, a general surgeon can also be a choice for such procedure.

You can discuss with your primary care physician to let an appointment with ENT specialist and decide if maxillofacial surgeon will carry out this procedure for you.

Good luck!
