What Does My HSG Report Suggest?
Question: hello doctor
I had got a Hsg done on the 13th of this month. And following is the report.
Uterine cavity:Normal in size, shape and contour.
Rt Tube:
Normal Proximal and mid tube
moderate ampullary dilatation
Distal folds preserved
Fimbrial end clumped
Pooling of contrast in pockets in the pelvis suggestive of adhesions
Tubal pressures not elevated
Good spill seen
Lt Tube:
Normal Proximal and mid tube
moderate ampullary dilatation
Distal folds preserved
Fimbrial end clumped
Tubal pressures not elevated
Free spill seen
IMPRESSION
1.Both tubes are patent with good spillage.However, bilateral ampullary dilatation
2.Category 2B

Hi,
I read your query and I understand your concerns.
Following is my reply:
1) The report says both fallopian tubes are open and no need to worry.
2) There is some dilatation which is probably due to infection.
3) There is some amount of adhesion which also could be due to infection.
4) Though the fallopian tubes are open they fal in category 2 B which means not very healthy due to dilatation and adhesions.
5) You can try for pregnancy for next 6 months. If you dont conceive get laparoscopy done to confirm these HSG findings.
