What Does My MRI Scan Indicate?
Acromioclavicular Joint: Mild hypertrophy of the distal clavicle. The joint space is relatively well-maintained.
Acromial Morphology: Type 2
Rotator Cuff: Some tendinosis of the supraspinatus tendon anteriorly. Question mild tendonitis of the subscapularis tendon distally. No rotator cuff tear or retraction.
Muscle Atrophy: none
Rotator Interval: Normal.
Long head of Biceps Tendon: See below.
Labrum: There is a superior labrum anterior posterior tear which may extend into the proximal biceps tendon.
Glenohumeral Joint: Normal
Glenohumeral Ligaments: Visible ligaments are normal
Effusion/Bursitis: None
Soft Tissues: Normal
Bones: Normal
IMPRESSION:
SUPERIOR LABRUM ANTERIOR POSTERIOR TEAR MAY EXTEND INTO THE PROXIMAL BICEPS TENDON
IF NEEDED THIS COULD BE ASSESSED IN GREATER DETAIL WITH MR ARTHROGRAPHY
MILD TENDONITIS OF THE SUPRASPINATUS AND SUBSCAPULARIS TENDONS WITHOUT TEAR OR RETRACTION
Please could explain what this all means? Why dose my tricep hurt?
You may need arthroscopic repair for superior labrum anterior posterior tea
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and reports.
Your rotator cuff has tendinosis which is mild problem.
Major injury is superior labrum anterior posterior tear which may extend into the proximal biceps tendon.
For this grade 5 SLAP tear you may need arthroscopic evaluation and repair.
You may need arthroscopic repair for superior labrum anterior posterior tear lesion.
Medication like methylcobalamine with muscle relaxant and analgesic will reduce pain, you can take them consulting your treating doctor.
You may consult physiotherapist for further guidance. He may start TENS, or ultrasound which is helpful in your case.
You may need to take rest for early healing.
Also check your vit B12 and vit D3 in your blood.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care
