What Does My MRI Scan Report Indicate?
Question: My MRI scan says I have bulging discs at C4-C5,C5-C6,C6-C7 levels causing effacement of anterior subarachanoid space.*ligamentum flavum hypertrophy noted at D9-D10&D10-D11 levels causing cord compression & myelomalacia changes atD9-D10.*posterior disc protrusion at L4-L5,L5-S1 levels causing significant compression of theca,bilateral exiting &traversing nerve roots.bilateral far lateral disc bulge at L3-L4 level causing compression of bilateral exiting nerve roots.
Spinal canal&bilateral lateral recess narrowing at L3-L4, L4-L5 & L5-S1 disc levels
Surgical intervention was advised as soon as possible.

I have gone through your query and understand your concern. Significant compression at L4-L5 and L5-S1 can be cause of immediate surgery. Indications of surgery depends upon your symptoms.So please describe what are symptoms. As primary treatment of disc prolapse is rest and analgesic. Rest is generally advised in lateral position with both hip and knee flexed.You can discuss with your doctor about it.
