What Does My MRI Scan Report Indicate?
Question: What does this mean on MRI report? The patient is 7 years old and the MRI was not for anything related to ENT..... "There is diffuse fullness of Waldeyer's ring which is typically reactive in patients of this age." He does not have a sore throat, nor has he been sick. He does have a moveable pea-sized ball under his chin (one side only) that I noticed in November. He sometimes has a hoarse voice (intermittent and more normal than not) and he has started to snore loudly.

2. The boy has a prominent Waldeyers ring seen in the MRI scan and this is expected in patients of younger age even if there is no sore throat or active disease. This is because the lymphatic system is well developed and the reactive nature is seen as fullness. This is not any disease if there is no symptom
3. The movable pea sized ball under the chin requires to be palpated and examined clinically. Usually it is a lymphnode but it can be a benign cyst in the region.
4. Hoarseness of voice can happen due to nerve irritation and even snoring loudly can occur if there is an enlargement of adenoids which is lymphatic tissue at the back of nose and throat. This might require an ENT clinical examination.
5. The encircled areas look to be normal structures and do not mean any thing significantly abnormal.
