What Does My MRI Scan Report Indicate?
Question: I have a problem and strong pain in my both knees, I visited an orthopedic consultant and the MRI scan do confirm grade 4 chondromalacia patella both knees, on the left side there was most likely loose cartilage. Mild lateral tilt to patella.
Since the Physical therapy didn’t help and the pain is affecting my daily activities and mobility, now the plan is arthroscopy and debridement as well as lateral release. Also assess the patellofemoral joint.
My question here, do you advise me to do both knees at once? or you don’t recommend, I am not sure how much I need support and how difficult the surgery.

Brief Answer:
Depends on surgeon.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
This all of course depends on the person and the procedure taking place. it is a LOT more difficult to get around with TWO bad legs, going to the bathroom DON'T let anyone put pressure on you, but make the decision urself and what you feel is best.
Hope my answer is helpful.
