Question: My father has been diagnosed as Carcinoma Rectum. This has been confirmed by Dr. through PET CT scan report. Dr. has suggested for Radiation Therapy for 5 weeks and a surgery after 6 weeks. My father age is 76 years and would like to know the side effects of radiation. Request you review the PET CT report and let us know below:

No, Cancer has not spread to the lymph nodes.
2. What is the current stage of cancer?
The cancer can be staged between stage 1 or 2A, biopsy findings to be considered.
3. Can BP Medicine(ESAM AT) be taken along with Chemo tables(Capecitabine 500mg -2 tablets morning & Night)
I believe there is no harm in taking the BP medications unless serum creatinine levels are normal. If not then you have to reconfirm with your treating doctor.
