What Does My PSA Level Indicate?
Yes intake of clomiphene will increase the PSA.
Detailed Answer:
Good Day and thank you for being with Healthcare Magic!
Intake of clomiphene would definitely increase the PSA. in one study comparing testosterone injections, testosterone patches and clomiphene oral. All of the testosterone therapy had an increase in PSA but The clomiphene group had the highest increase in PSA. The average increase in PSA was only 1.0ng/mL after 3 months of therapy.
You have a very high increase in your PSA jumping from 1.56 to 7.0 ng/mL. A very high doubling time would lead to higher risk of harboring prostate cancer. I would strongly suggest seeing a Urologist and possibly doing a prostate biopsy to be sure that we are not missing out on anything. Other benign conditions that may lead to increase in PSA would be infection, prostatitis, recent ejaculation. Levels of elevations varies among patients with the same conditions so it is really hard to tell unless a prostate biopsy is done.
