What Does My TIBC Blood Test Report Indicate?
Low Iron in circulation
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your concern.
I read it carefully and saw the blood tests you uploaded.
Seems like you have a low Iron level in the blood, a low Ferritinemia (which is the level of Ferritin in the blood, used to deposit iron. It gets low, when the deposits of Iron are low), and a low Iron saturation.
So, regarding your question, Iron saturation is about the percentage of Iron which is free (that is normal or high when the deposits are normal), against the percentage of Iron that is binded by Transferrin (TIBC). In other words, since you have not only low deposits of Iron, but also the circulating Iron in the blood is also low.
You apparently have an anemia cause by low Iron in the blood. You will need to take Iron for 2-3 months, and those values most probably will get back to normal.
Hope this is helpful.
Regards,
