What Does My TIFFA Scan Test Report Indicate?
Question: Hi Doctor,
I am 18 weeks pregnant, i had my TIFFA scan yesterday. Due date given in scan is 21/3/2016.
Estimated Fetus weight is 270gms, but I have read in few sites that as of 19 weeks the fetus weight will be 190gms. Now am worried if my baby is overweight, because its 80gms more than the average weight given in all sites.

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
You have a perfect baby weight as the ideal weight at this gestation varies from 200-350 grams and is well within normal limits.
I don't know the source from which you have read the weight estimate but in my opinion this is ideal and thus nothing to worry about.
All the best.

Brief Answer:
Ideal weight
Detailed Answer:
No dear this is the estimated weight at 16-20 weeks gestation and in general weight at 20 weeks is anyway between 350-400 grams.
18-20 weeks is the mist common gestation for getting an anomaly scan and almost every booked patient is scanned at this gestation so according to various text books and my clinical experience so far this is an ideal weight wo nothing to worry.
