What Does My X-ray Test Report Indicate?
Question: I have been coughing up white foamy mucous for some time. I had a chest X-ray on 10th March 2016, which reported " there is a suggestion of minimal infiltrates at the right lower zone. No sizable pleural effusion is detected. My GP subsequently gave a course of antibiotics and Flemex AC OD, but there has been no improvement.
Brief Answer:
You will need antibiotic also.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Infiltrate on chest x ray is suggestive of lung infection (pneumonia).
So antibiotic drugs are the mainstay of treatment for this.
You are taking N acetyl cysteine (NAC).
It is not antibiotic. It is mucolytic and expectorant drug.
Along with this, you need broad spectrum antibiotic like levofloxacin.
Please let me know
1. Do you smoke?
2. Do you have fever?
