Brief Answer:
Your blood pressure is mildly elevated

Detailed Answer:
Hi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Thanks for writing in to us.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. Blood pressure should be recorded after 30 minutes of physical and mental rest. I hope you have recorded your blood pressure after resting.

2. A blood pressure recording of 156/ 100 mm Hg is mildly high for your age because systolic is between 140 and 159 mm Hg. It is not mentioned if this recording was before taking medication for blood pressure control or following it. Sometimes the meter can show an error of 5 to 10 percent and in that case it is marginally elevated.

3. Please record your blood pressure for 3 days after 30 minutes of rest and then if it is persistently high even after medications then you need to consult your doctor. A low salt diet is suggested.

Hope your query is answered.
Please do write back if you have any doubts.
