Question: inmy blood report platelet counts are too high 7.2lac and wbc 109000. want to know why platelet count are high.

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:

1. High platelet count of 7.2 lac along with a very high count of WBC - 109000 strongly suggest a myeloproliferative disorder.

2. Needs evaluation for chronic myeloid leukemia. Peripheral smear study for immature forms of WBC is necessary.

If the WBC count is normal, then stress, exercise or acute bleeding can be thought of.

If the WBC count is indeed high, you will need to meet a haematologist for further management.
