What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?
Question: Hi, I had some blood tests done. My esr, c reactive protein and the ccg came back elevated? Is this scary? Esr-33. Crp-1.33 and ccg-28 what could this be?
Brief Answer:
I need to know about your problems first
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.
CRP (C-reactive protein) is an inflammatory marker which could increase due to some infectious or inflammatory process. So, in order to be able to comment on why it has increased, I would need to know why the test had been done in the first place and why had you been to the doctor.
ESR is a non-specific marker indicating that something in the body is not right.
I am not sure what you mean by CCG. It would be helpful if you could upload the reports altogether. Be sure to mention your complaints as well.
Regards

Yhese are my test results
Brief Answer:
You could have rheumatoid arthritis
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for writing back. I have gone through all the reports but you have not mentioned the reasons for getting the tests done.
As such, a cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP) antibody test is ordered along with a rheumatoid factor (RF) test to help diagnose rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and to assess the severity and probable course of the disease. Inflammatory markers like ESR and C-reactive protein (CRP) are often found to be raised in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. So, in summary it is more likely that you have rheumatoid arthritis. However, we do not treat reports, we treat patients. So, unless I know the complaints you had, it is really hard for me to comment.
