What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?
Question: Hi Doctor:
I had a CBC and the only abnormal result was my WBC was low at 3.2 which my previous WBC three months ago was approximately 5.0 all other lab results are normal within range except my cholesterol at 235, which I am watching my diet. I feel okay. Just concerned because both of my parents had chronic lymphatic leukemia in their upper 70s and early 80s.

Brief Answer:
a low WBC count can be temporary after a viral or typhoid infection.
Detailed Answer:
Hi welcome to health care magic,
a low WBC count can be temporary after a viral or typhoid infection.
But you need to follow up every fortnight till it comes to normal.
If it rises again--no problem.
If it reduces further we are looking at Bone marrow suppression.
Meanwhile--take folic acid 5 mg daily--
