What Does My Blood Test Report Indicate?

Posted on Thu, 27 Apr 2017
Question:

Hello doctor

I am a syphilis patient, I got a positive result for the first time in August 2016 the deters reading was 1:8, since then I got peniciline treatment for the duration of 3 weeks. Last month the blood test showed it increased to 1:16. The doctor suggested me to have another blood test in 3 months time. There has been no symptons on my body at all until today, I noticed this small deep red dot on my face, looks like the skin is broken. I just want to know is this related to syphilis? If it is, will more dots like this show up on my face? Thank you. XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Yes this could be only if you have sexual contact after the treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hello! I have been through your question and the attached image,

Related your concern I think that this small deep red dot could be related to syphilis if you have sexual contact with an infected partner after the treatment.

You should know that you can reinfected again with syphilis after the treatment because you are not immune to syphilis.

You should do RPR-VDRL and TPHA test again and to take material from this element to see in microscopy for treponema.

I hope my answer helps you.
I wish you a quick recovery.
Regards.
