Supportive care
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking
I read your question and i understand your concerns. Most of your partner's illness is manageable and not treatable and most of his symptoms are due to this mixed connective tissue disorder, treatment of which is mostly supportive which he is already on, modafinil, baclofen, adalat and folates are helping with that. The medications have side effect of reducing the blood counts and vitamin levels which can be easily managed with supplementing with multivitamins, so far so good, no lab parameter is too low to be worried about.
Fatty liver needs losing weight, modifying diet lifestyle, continue use of statins and see if it helps. Blood pressure of 150 is high and stage 1 hypertension and modifying diet lifestyle and compliant use of antihypertensives and reducing salt intake will help. Also his HBA1c levels are in prediabetes levels to almost diabetes and needs to keep an eye on his glycemic status and again this taking care of metabolic syndrome of fatty liver and losing weight and exercising regularly will help. I can understand the discomfort and agony it has, but supportive care is all your healthcare provider can offer.
I hope it helps. Take good care of your partner and of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
Regards
Khana
