What Does My Blood Test Report Suggest?
Faint band(possible monoclonal protein=.15g/dl)detected. Suggest urine and serum immunofixation, if clinically indicated. Also:
Immunofixation , Serum
IgM-Lambda monoclonal protein present
TSH. 1.83
I have planning on seeing a Hematologist. However, in the meantime, can you tell me if my numbers are considered high enough for bone/blood cancer?
An a MRI showed I have scattered thyroid nodules measuring up to 10mm in maximal dimension.
Thank you for you help. i
clinically no need of immunofixation study.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, Dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern about your tsh and monoclonal antibodies level.your monoclonal antibodies level only doesn't suggest any blood or bone cancer. You should go for bone marrow biopsy also. You can send me report of your peripherals smear examination, ESR and bone marrow biopsy as well as radiological findings to me. From that I can say you in detail whether you need any further investigation to rule out paraprotienemia or not.
As far as your TSH is concern it is normal. No need to worry for that. If you have nodule then you can go for FNAC study of thyroid to know exact cause of that . Most probably it should be benign nodule . However definitely one can say after FNAC or biopsy only.
Hope I have answered your questions, if you have any further questions then you can ask me. I will be happy to answer.
Thanks for using health care magic.
wish you a very good health.
